Small-batch, handmade gear isn’t just better—it’s good business.
The best products are built by people connected to their craft. It stems from artists, makers, and builders who want to make their community stronger. When retailers support independent makers, they build deeper customer loyalty, create meaningful shopping experiences, and invest in a stronger, more sustainable industry.
Nonstandard Supply connects retailers with Canada’s best indie gear makers, making it easier to bring small-batch, handcrafted outdoor products into more shops—because the best gear comes from real people, not factories.
Nonstandard Supply is a platform that connects independent Canadian outdoor gear makers with retailers looking for unique, high-quality products. We make it easy for small-batch makers to sell wholesale and for retailers to discover unique gear they won’t find through traditional distributors.
Makers list their products with wholesale pricing, minimum order quantities (MOQ), and lead times. Retailers browse the catalog, place an order, and payments are processed securely through our platform. Once the maker ships the order, funds are released.
We work with small-batch, independent outdoor gear makers based in Canada. If you make high-quality, handmade, or small-run products for outdoor adventure, bikepacking, or related niches, you’re a great fit.
Nonstandard Supply is for retailers looking to stock unique, high-quality outdoor gear. Bike shops, outdoor stores, and specialty retailers can browse and order directly from independent brands.
We take a 7% transaction fee on each order—that’s it. No listing fees, no subscriptions, and no commitments. You only pay when you make a sale.
All payments are processed securely. Retailers pay upfront, and funds are held in escrow until the maker provides proof of shipment. At that point, the payment (minus the 7% platform fee) is released to the maker.
Material costs are at an all-time high, and many small makers don’t have the cash flow to front production costs. Unlike large manufacturers, they source high-quality materials in small batches, meaning each project requires a significant investment.
Makers have full control over their pricing, MSRP, minimum order quantity (MOQ), and lead times. Retailers see exactly what they’re getting before placing an order.
Not at this time. All orders are prepaid via escrow to ensure security for both makers and retailers.
